Michael Stewart
Head Coach
Michael Stewart attended Washington High School. He graduated from Missouri State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. During this time he worked as an Undergraduate Assistant for the Football Program. This will be Michael’s 5th year teaching at Marquette High School and will be working in the Physical Education Department. His previous 5 years of teaching were spent at Union High School. This is Michael's 1st year as the Head Coach, and he spent his previous 2 seasons as the Mustang's Defensive Coordinator. He is married to his wife Alyssa, and they have 2 boys Cameron and Chase. Coach Stewart has a career 10-2 record.
Jeff Smith
Offensive Coordinator
Coach Smith is entering his second year on staff at Marquette High School. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 2005 and Missouri State University in 2010, where he worked as an undergraduate assistant for the football program. From there, Coach Smith started coaching at the high school level and has had stops at Glendale High School from 2008-2010, Belton High School in 2011, Marshfield High School from 2012-2014, and Warrenton High School from 2015-2018. Coach will be entering his tenth year in education and teaches Social Studies at Marquette. Coach Smith is married to his wife Kristin of 6 years and they have two children. Logan is 3 years old and Connor is 2.
Jeff Auten
Offensive Line
Coach Jeff Auten is joining the Mustang Staff after 24 years of coaching. He has spent the last 3 years coaching at Fort Zumwalt West High School where he has been teaching since 2001. He has coached both the offensive line and defensive line as well as linebackers throughout the years. Jeff has been married to Clare for 21 years. They have 3 children. Sarah is a Marquette graduate. William is an 8th grader at Selvidge and Maria is a 5th grader. They have a granddaughter, Estella, who is 1.
Joe Scotino
Defensive Backs
Joe Scotino begins his fifth year on the staff at Marquette High School working with the RB's and DB's and he will be teaching in the Physical Education department. He also works with the Boys Basketball Program as a varsity assistant coach. Joe grew up in Ballwin, attended St John Vianney High School, graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Physical Education and Masters degree from Missouri Baptist. He also holds certifications in Health and Driver Education. Previously, he worked in the Clayton School District and was also Head Freshman Football Coach. Joe has coached Boys Basketball and Boys Track at Clayton High School. Coach Scotino is married to his wife Bridget of 12 years and they have two children. Joey is 11 and Nate is 8 years old.
Charles Malloy
Defensive-Line/Tight Ends
Coach Malloy graduated from Central Methodist in 2015 he received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. As well as attending school, Coach Malloy played football for Central Methodist University as a tight end. He is entering his 5th season with the Marquette football program. Coach Malloy is entering his 4th year as a Physical Education teacher and 1st year teaching at Marquette. He lives in O'Fallon with his wife, Kirsten.
Tom Swoboda
Head Freshman Coach
Coach Swoboda is in his third year at Marquette High and brings football coaching experience as a former assistant and head freshman coach at Lafayette High. Coach spends time in the offseason working with long snappers from middle school to the professional ranks. Over the years he has worked with players from various high schools and colleges as well as the Packers, Chiefs and Rams of the NFL. He is currently the senior instructor in the state of Missouri for Rubio Long Snapping. Coach Swoboda spent the 2015 season as a sideline assistant for the St. Louis Rams. Coach Swoboda is retired from the Missouri Public School System and resides in Wildwood with his wife of 31 years, Theresa. They have three grown children, two sons, and a daughter. Coach Swoboda’s oldest son is a football coach for Lafayette.
Jonah Boyd
Freshman Assistant
This is Coach Boyd’s third year coaching in the Mustang Football Program. Coach Boyd graduated from Affton High School. He received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Mathematics at Maryville University. Coach Boyd is a Mathematics teacher at Marquette High School and is the FCA Sponsor. In the spring, he also coaches track. He is married to his wife Faith who is studying Music Education at Webster University.
Erin Sullenger
Director of Operations
Erin Sullenger attended Rockwood Summit High School, Central Methodist University and Ashford University. She has a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies and a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Erin earned her Master's degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology. She is entering her 16th year as a social studies teacher at Marquette and her 1st year as the Director of Football Operations. Erin is married to her husband Tim and her children, Thomas and LeaAnne, attend Rockwood schools. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, going to Cardinals games and spending time with her friends and family.
