Michael Stewart

Head Varsity Coach & Defensive Coordinator

Michael Stewart attended Washington High School. He graduated from Missouri State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. During this time he worked as an Undergraduate Assistant for the Football Program. This will be Michael’s 6th year teaching at Marquette High School and will be working in the Physical Education Department. His previous 5 years teaching were spent at Union High School. This is Michael's 3rd year as the Head Coach, and he spent his previous 2 seasons as the Mustang's Defensive Coordinator. He is married to his wife Alyssa, and they have two sons, Cameron and Chase. Career Record: 22-6

 

 

 

 Jeff Smith

Offensive Coordinator & Quarterbacks/Running Backs

Coach Jeff Smith is entering his fourth year on staff at Marquette High School. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 2005 and Missouri State University in 2010, where he worked as an undergraduate assistant for the football program. From there, Coach Smith started coaching at the high school level and has had stops at Glendale High School from 2008-2010, Belton High School in 2011, Marshfield High School from 2012-2014, and Warrenton High School from 2015-2017. Coach will be entering his twelfth year in education and teaches Social Studies at Marquette. Coach Smith is married to his wife Kristin of 8 years and they have two children. Logan is 5 years old and Connor is 4.

 

 

 

Joe Scotino

Head JV Coach, Special Teams Coordinator & Defensive Backs

Joe Scotino begins his seventh year on the staff at Marquette High School working with the WR's and DB's and he is in his 3rd year teaching in the Physical Education department. He also works with the Boys Basketball Program as a varsity assistant coach. Joe grew up in Ballwin, attended St John Vianney High School, graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Physical Education and Masters degree from Missouri Baptist. He also holds certifications in Health and Driver Education. Previously, he worked in the Clayton School District and coached Football, Boys Basketball, and Boys Track at Clayton High School. Coach Scotino lives in the Rockwood School District and is married to his wife Bridget of 14 years and they have two children. Joey is 13 and Nate is 10 years old.

 

 

Kelly Malloy

Defensive Line & Tight Ends

 

Coach Kelly Malloy graduated from Central Methodist in 2015 he received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. As well as attending school, Coach Malloy played football for Central Methodist University as a tight end. He is entering his 7th season with the Marquette football program. Coach Malloy is entering his 3rd year as a Physical Education teacher at Marquette. He lives in O'Fallon with his wife, Kirsten.   

 

 

Jeff Auten

Offensive Line

Coach Jeff Auten is in his third year on the Mustang Staff after 26 years of coaching. He has coached both the offensive line and defensive line as well as linebackers throughout the years. Jeff has been married to Clare for 23 years. They have 3 children. Sarah is a Marquette graduate. William is a 10th grader at Marquette and Maria is a 7th grader at Selvidge. They have a granddaughter, Estella, who is 3 years old. 

 

 

Tyler Burrus

Linebackers

This will be the first year Coach Burrus is on the staff at Marquette  High School. He has just finished his bachelor’s degree in Physical  Education at Missouri Western State University in May. While attending  MWSU, Coach Burrus played Linebacker on the football team. He will be entering his first year teaching PE and Health at Parkway North High  School. Coach Burrus is from the St. Louis area, where he attended  Affton High School.

 

 

 

Reggie Jones

Defensive Backs & Wide Receivers

Coach Jones graduated from Jennings High School in 1991 and played one year of football at Northwest Missouri State University before an injury ended his college football career. His coaching experience includes multiple sports (basketball, baseball, and football). He coached the Berkeley Bulldogs and in the Junior Football League. His last two years coaching were at Soldan High School, 2016-2017, in various positions including LB coach, Special Teams coach, and Defensive Coordinator. Coach Jones is currently in the 23rd year of his career as a Law Enforcement Officer. He has a wife, Tara, of 16 years and 5 children, the youngest is currently a sophomore at Marquette High School. 

 

 

 

Jonah Boyd

Wide Receivers & Defensive Backs

This is Coach Boyd’s fourth year coaching in the Mustang Football  Program. Coach Boyd graduated from Affton High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics at Maryville University and a Masters in Administration from Southwest Baptist University. Coach  Boyd is a Mathematics teacher at Marquette High School and is also the FCA Sponsor. In the spring, he also coaches track. He is married to his wife Faith, who is a middle school music teacher. 

 

 

   

Tom Swoboda

Head Freshman Coach

Coach Swoboda is in his fourth year at Marquette High and brings football coaching experience as a former assistant and head freshman coach at Lafayette High. Coach spends time in the offseason working with long snappers from middle school to the professional ranks.  Over the years he has worked with players from various high schools and colleges as well as the Packers, Chiefs, and Rams of the NFL. He is currently the senior instructor in the state of Missouri for Rubio Long Snapping. Coach Swoboda spent the 2015 season as a sideline assistant for the St. Louis Rams. Coach Swoboda is retired from the  Missouri Public School System and resides in Wildwood with his wife of 32 years, Theresa. They have three grown children, two sons, and a  daughter. Coach Swoboda’s oldest son is a football coach for Lafayette.

 

 

 

Schon Carr

Freshman Assistant

Schon Carr, a Las Vegas native, was a four-year defensive and offensive lines player for the Cimarron-Memorial High School football program. Schon, alumni of Evangel University, in Springfield, MO, graduated with a degree in Leadership Studies. This will be Coach Carr's first year as a member of the Mustang football staff. In addition to coaching, Coach Carr is a support staff employee at Marquette High School. He is married to his wife of 5 years, Alyssa, and has two young daughters.

 

 

 

Erin Sullenger

Director of Football Operations

Erin Sullenger attended Rockwood Summit High School, Central  Methodist University, and Ashford University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Erin earned her Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology. She is entering her 17th year as a social studies teacher at Marquette and her 2nd year as the Director of Football  Operations. Erin is married to her husband Tim and her children,  Thomas and LeaAnne, attend Rockwood schools. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, going to Cardinals games, and spending time with her friends and family.
